Gala Operadora Turística has participated for over two decades in the development, management and disposition of hotel assets in Mexico — primarily in the Riviera Maya, Huatulco and Riviera Nayarit.
The group's track record spans the full lifecycle: greenfield development, institutional financing (Bancomext-Sabadell), brand partnerships (AMResorts / Hyatt Inclusive Collection), and asset sales to international groups including Sandos, Marsans/Hotetur and Inmobiliaria Masach.
Current portfolio: two operating all-inclusive resorts in Huatulco (820 keys) under Hyatt Inclusive Collection brands.
Both properties 100% owned by the Gala, free and clear of debt.

The Gala began its hospitality career in the mid-1990s, developing and operating large-scale all-inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya during the corridor's early institutional growth period.
Gala Beach Resort Playacar (860 keys) — Opened 1996 in Playacar, Playa del Carmen. Sold in 2005 to the Spanish group Sandos Hotels & Resorts, which rebranded it as Sandos Playacar Beach Resort.
Gran Gala Esmeralda (900 suites) — Located between Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos. Sold in 2006 to Grupo Marsans (Spain), integrated into the Hotetur chain.
During this period the group also participated in speculative land transactions, notably the sale of ~80 ha that originated the Grand Coral Riviera Maya complex.
In 2008, Gala initiated a partnership with the Mullen Family, owners of Apple Leisure Group and AMResorts (now part of Hyatt Inclusive Collection). Three projects were developed under AMResorts brands:
Dreams Huatulco Resort & Spa — Complete renovation and expansion of the original Gala Huatulco into a 421-key family all-inclusive. In continuous operation for 17+ years.
Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa — Ground-up development (2008–2010) of a 399-key adults-only resort on Conejos Bay. AAA Four Diamond rated.
Dreams Villamagna (Nuevo Vallarta) — 229-suite all-inclusive in Riviera Nayarit. Sold in 2022 to Inmobiliaria Masach to fully retire the Bancomext-Sabadell credit facility.
